prayer to pleading
Nov 13th, 2009 by Nathanael
When storms assail
And friendships fail
On this wearying journey thru life
When my soul is sore
And temptation’s lure
Seems stronger than my will to fight
Then my prayers turn to pleading
And the Spirit’s interceding
Bids my fears begin receding
As I feel my Savior’s presence
When loved ones die
With no good-bye
And heartache threatens to drown us
When hope seems lost
And sorrow’s frost
Brings a chill that settles around us
Then our prayers turn to pleading
And the Spirit’s interceding
Bids our fears begin receding
As we know our Savior’s presence
So take hope, dear friend
This is not the end
We believe in redemption and rebirth
Jesus will reign
Gone will be pain
In the new heavens and the new earth
Where our tears will turn to joy
Where disease and death cannot destroy
Where sin and sorrow cannot annoy
As we bask in our Savior’s presence
i really appreciate your poems nathanael…our journey from despair to hope is captured nicely in this poem,, thanks for sharing! i love the phrase “sorrow’s frost”, it’s a great metaphor or whatever you call it– i forget all that english terminology i learned way back in 10th grade!?
Thanks, Kim.
We miss you guys.
It could be a metaphor. Or maybe an analogy? 10th grade is farther away for me than it is for you.
