cheesy

This morning at work, our office supply company treated us to a “thank you” breakfast.
They brought in coffee and bagels from Manhattan Bagel.
In keeping with my sense of humor, I had a Cheddar bagel with cream cheese.

Ragman

This week, while on vacation, I finished Walter Wangerin’s book “Ragman and Other Cries of Faith,” which is a collection of stories and parables from his life. It is one of those books which I was saddened to read the final sentence and close the cover because I so enjoyed the experience of being pulled [...]

Well, it’s my family’s annual trek to World’s End State Park in Sullivan County, PA.
We’ll be leaving this evening.
Everyone else is staying all week, but we are coming home on Wednesday.

I need you

Forgive me, O Lord, for being so distant.
You, O God, are so patient.

today…

…is my first day as a part-time missionary with H*VMI.
Eventually, I’ll be full-time, but support-raising in this economy has been slow.
So please pray for people to partner with us in this mission.
I am SO excited to finally get started!

a toast

Come all whose glass is half empty,
Come drink of the Water of Life.
Other fountains may be tempting,
But cannot quench your thirst inside.
Come and drink.

Come all who are rejected, refused,
Come to the table, all are welcome.
Come all who are abandoned, abused,
Come, for in Christ, we are daughters and sons.
Come and drink.

Join me as I raise my glass [...]
