Borrowed Breath

Well, one of our major projects that we’ve been planning for awhile now is tiling our kitchen and dining room.
We finally took a big bite out of it this weekend.

On Friday afternoon, Jon Kasitz, one of the most amazing people in the world, helped us layout the pattern and start laying the tile.

And then Saturday morning, Jon came back with with his beautiful wife Jen and daughter Gloria and Jen’s brother Phil.
And they worked like crazy.

Lauren Henricks mixed our thinset morter.

Here’s a shot of the tile going down under the stove.

Brian showed up and helped with some finishing touches near the back door.
He also helped clean up, which was huge.

Here’s a shot from the living room into the dining room.

We still have to tile under the refrigerator and dishwasher.
And then we have to grout the whole room, which will be a lot of work.

We love the way it looks so far.
Our kitchen and dining room is that much closer to being completed.
