this mission

The humility of our God amazes me. He is on mission to restore and reconcile this world back to Himself.
And He calls us to join Him on this mission.
This mission on which we’ve been called has so many facets.
It’s very clear that it is not about us.
It is about God and what He is doing in this world.
Our neighborhood is our mission field.
Our workplace is our mission field.
Our family is our mission field.
Even our church is our mission field.
Our home should be the base for this mission.
When I pray over our home, my prayer is that it would be a sanctuary to us and to all who come through the front door.
I pray that this is a safe place where love is inhaled and exhaled like so much oxygen and CO2.
I pray that our walls will ring with laughter and joy.
And I pray that it will also be a place where tears can be safely shed and shared in love and compassion.
Our home is not ours.
Yes, our name is on the mortgage.
But our home belongs to God.
As do we.
