a delightful distraction

So a few weeks ago, my sister-in-law Jen mentioned she wanted to send my brother Tim to an Eagles game for Christmas and his birthday present. She said it didn’t really make sense to buy one ticket and send him by himself, and said she was going to buy two tickets. She asked if I would go with him, to which I replied, “Let me think about thatYES!”
So yesterday afternoon, we drove down to Philly. One thing you need to know about my families is that we are avid Philadelphia sports phans. And the Eagles really get us pumped up. We arrived at the Linc in plenty of time. And back in the concourse, before we got our seats, we watched with amazement and excitement as Oakland beat Tampa Bay, and as Houston won, opening up an opportunity for the Eagles to win and make the playoffs. There were crowds of people around the tv’s cheering on the Raiders as if they were our team.
And then we watched from amazing seats 12 rows back and yelled and cheered and high-fived everyone in reach as our Eagles destroyed the Dallas cowboys.
We’re in the playoffs! Wow!
We play the Vikings next week.
Fly, Eagles, fly!
What an amazing day.
Thank you, Jen!
