breaking the silence
Dec 23rd, 2008 by Nathanael
Well, if you’re not gonna post for awhile, and then you decide to break the silence, it better be for something good.
WE STAYED AT OUR TOWNHOUSE FOR THE FIRST TIME LAST NIGHT!
Yippee!
On Saturday, we moved out of Tim and Jen’s house. I was able to do something that day that I’d been wanting to do for a long, long time. We walked up to the front door, hands full of stuff, and I unlocked. I put the stuff in my arms down and took the stuff from Michelle that she was holding. She looked a little confused. Then I scooped her up in my arms and carried my beautiful wife across the threshold of our home.
We then packedĀ up a few nights worth of clothes and drove out to Lancaster to be with Michelle’s mom who had just been released from the hospital after surgery. So we stayed at her house Saturday and Sunday nights. And last night, we stayed here.
We put up the Christmas tree and hung stockings from the bookshelf.
There are still boxes everywhere.
There is still a lot of work to be done.
But we’re home.
And it feels good.
On an entirely separate note, Tim and Jen were absolutely amazing. Our “temporary” stay lasted just over six weeks. They made us feel at home, not at all like visitors. The other night, when we were praying together, Michelle thanked the Lord that they made, what could have felt like an awkward situation, feel perfectly natural.
We miss them already.
We used to see them once a week to do our laundry.
Now, we’ll have our own washer and dryer.
But we are committing to still sharing life and dinner with each other once a week.
We love you guys and thank the Lord for you.
