another work weekend
Nov 3rd, 2008 by Nathanael
Well, this weekend we had another work day.
It started out for Michelle and me on Friday night.
And then Saturday we had family and friends helping in a big way.
We got so much done.
Tim and Jen were there Saturday all day and then Sunday afternoon.
Here are some pics:

My sisters Ruth and Joanna mere moments before Ruth got Joanna in the face with the paint-soaked roller.

Michelle with our friend Kari.

Michelle’s mom painting around our front window.

My brother-in-law Ken painting our burnt siena kitchen.

The work in progress.

A candid shot of my brother Tim cutting in the paint in our bedroom.
You might think he’s posing and being silly, but that’s really how he paints.
Tim and his wife Jen have been AMAZING in this whole process.
They have, by far, logged the most volunteer hours…and then some.
We would not be even close to as far along as we are without their willing and capable hands.
And if our house is not in move-in condition by the time we have to be out of our apartment (11 days, but who’s counting) they have crazily offered to let us stay with them as long as necessary.

Here I am taping the ceiling 14 feet above our landing so I could paint the walls.
Michelle did a lot of praying while I was painting this high up.
Plus, she acted like an all star pit crew member, handing me a freshly dipped paint brush for cutting in and then the wet roller for the walls.
Tomorrow, the carpet will be installed.
Our bathroom is completely gutted.
We hope to pick up and install a tub and wall surround this week.
And Saturday, we start moving stuff in.
Getting closer.

We were there until after 1:00 this morning.
Rupey-Dupe,
Our next day is actually this Saturday…it’s moving day.
We won’t be ready to live there, but it’s the last Saturday before we have to be out of our apartment.
Mom,
Your daughter is indeed a Millersville University graduate, however, in the age of text messaging, spell check is turned off.
Thanks all.
Shalom
