“Jesus Wants to Save Christians”

Well, yesterday in the mail, I received an eagerly anticipated book.
“Jesus Wants to Save Christians“, by Rob Bell and Don Golden. Rob Bell is one of the most thought-provoking teachers out there today. And Don Golden, the co-author, has been very instrumental in the direction Mars Hill is heading. He was their senior pastor for a few years, freeing up Rob to focus on the preaching and teaching.
To some people, the very name Rob Bell rings of controversy. They’ve heard that his first book was heretical. They probably didn’t read it. They’ve heard that when he preaches, he waters down the gospel. They probably have never listened to one of his sermons.
Out of all the contemporary pastors, barring our very own Phil Carnuccio, no one has shaped the way I view the gospel and the kingdom like Rob Bell has.
I thank the Lord for this man who is not afraid to rock the Christianese boat.
If you didn’t want your status quo shaken, you never should have decided to follow Jesus.
