love the Father sees

I told the Lord today,
“I wish I loved you more.”
My spirit heard Him say,
“We’ve been over this before.”
He reminded me again,
“I see deep into your soul,
The places you have been,
The times you lost control.
And thru it all I see,
A heart that longs to love
With hope and purity,
To love as you are loved.”
“I know,” I said, “but in my heart,
I wish I loved you more.”
He answered me, “I see your heart,
And it’s your heart that I adore.”
