Borrowed Breath

I’ve been listening to a lecture by the incomparable N.T. Wright that he gave in May of 2005 at Seattle Pacific University. He touched on Pilate’s question to Jesus recorded in John 18, “What is truth?”
And then during the Q&A at the end of the lecture, he added this wonderful quote:

“…Jesus Himself was being the answer, and that part of John’s point there is that truth is not primarily something you speak, it’s something you are; and you speak out of what you are; and that Jesus was being the truth…”
