weakness…conqueror

Every Thursday evening, from 7:00 to 9:30, a group of us get together for a time of worship and intercessory prayer. There is no format. We sing and pray and worship as the Spirit leads. It has been a delightfully refreshing time for my soul. Last week, a young lady named Meg was praying for […]

this weekend

Yesterday, we celebrated Michelle’s birthday by spending time with the inspector in the dirty, stinky unoccupied townhouse we’re in the process of buying, barring any unforeseen large-dollar repairs.
For the most part, the inspection went well. There are a few areas of concern that we need to clear up.
From there, we went home and showered and […]

love, joy & peace

Love, joy, and peace,
Multiply and increase
            In me and thru me.
Passion and purity,
Sense of security,
            Setting me free.

Love, embodied perfect love,

Love, joy, and peace,
Multiply and increase
            In me and thru me.
Passion and purity,
Sense of security,
            […]

tidal wave

Your tidal wave
Of Water of Life
Has knocked me off my feet.
You seek and save
Those tangled in strife
With love that’s pure and sweet.

courage

In comparing courage with suicide, G.K. Chesterton makes this observation:
“Courage is almost a contradiction in terms. It means a strong desire to live taking the form of a readiness to die. ‘He that will lose his life, the same shall save it’…A soldier surrounded by enemies, if he is to cut his way out, needs […]

obstacle-removers

As we press into the heart of God, we discover that He removes obstacles and breaks down strongholds that are keeping us from being closer to Him. Most of these obstacles and strongholds are ones that we’ve created through sin or even through religion. And as He breaks them down and draws us closer to […]
