new wheels
Aug 18th, 2008 by Nathanael
Well, the days of putting gas into my truck every week are over. We are now the proud owners of a 1995 Nissan Sentra, in a really cool shade of purple…not quite Barneyesque.
I’m trying to sell my truck on Craigslist. We love Craigslist.
So the car belonged to Michelle’s cousin Kim who is now a missionary in Indonesia, married to a wonderful man named Margon. Michelle’s aunt and uncle were holding onto the car, but it is clear now that Kim is in Indonesia for good. So for us, they came down well below Kelley’s blue book value, and then Michelle’s mom offered to actually pay this reduced price. And then Michelle’s uncle insisted on paying the bill to the notary for the title transfer. So we were blessed with this car at no cost to us! Praise the Lord for her family’s generosity!
And it’s a stick-shift, which I am loving!
It’s been years since I had a stick-shift, and I never realized how much I missed it.
Now I have to teach Michelle to drive stick in case we ever have to switch vehicles.
Anyway, have a great week.
Shalom

what good timing! i haven’t checked your site in months, i’m sorry! but the day i finally do it just so happens you wrote about my dearly beloved, former car (: I was so happy to hear the news that it had found a new home with you and michelle! i always hated the thought that my car, full of so many memories and miles of highway with me at he wheel, would one day end up in the hands of a stranger… so it will stay in the family, heck it Is part of the family by now…as Ben says, the “Purple Easter Egg” is a wonder….so take good care of it and it will take care of you. May you have many a wonderful moment behind it’s wheel and in all 5 gears….(: Love you guys and miss you lots, kimmmm
Kim!
It’s so good to hear from you!
Yes, it is good the car got to stay in the fam!
We caught up with Ben about his visit with you and Margon on Saturday when we picked it up.
Hope to see you next summer…sounds so long.
Be blessed and be a blessing.
Shalom
