Jon and I arrived safely home last evening. We had an amazing time. The weather was clear. It was hot, but both places we camped had streams to swim in to cool down. Both nights, we had wonderful fellowship around a campfire. I hope to include some pictures when Jon sends them to me.
We saw this tree down by the creek off Old Loggers Path. Rather than growing up, this birch tree grew at almost 90 degrees out of the river bank for about six feet. And then it shot skyward. No matter what it took, this tree was reaching for the light. For a few years, I’m sure it seemed unnecessary and unfruitful. But it grew out to where the sunlight cleared the tree canopy. And then it grew straight and true toward the sun. There’s a sermon illustration in there somewhere.
Have a wonderful week, beloved.
Shalom
