a link and a thought

This link reminded me of a story Mike Morby shared with Dan Fisher and me a few years ago in our Bible study. It’s an illustration that has always stuck with me. Mike was (and probably still is) a huge Joe Focht fan. Mr. Focht told of a man who was painting his house. As he was in the process of painting, his little son decided he wanted to “help” his dad. So the man agreed. He gave the boy his own roller, and they painted side-by-side. The young lad seemed to get more paint on the floor and on himself than he actually got on the wall. But it didn’t matter. He wanted to be with his father. And his father wanted to be with him, not for his painting skills (or lack thereof) but just because he loved his son.
Your heavenly Father wants to spend time with you, not when you get your act together, but right now.
