a brief prayer

Last night, after I read for a while, I turned out my light, laid my head on my pillow, and breathed this brief prayer, “Thank you, Lord, for saving my soul. I owe you…big time.”

Last night, after I read for a while, I turned out my light, laid my head on my pillow, and breathed this brief prayer, “Thank you, Lord, for saving my soul. I owe you…big time.”
i’m so glad he saved you, too!
I’m also thankful for sleep.
And steak.
And gerunds.
and weird brothers…
We are thankful for grilled salmon, spinach feta salad, and enough rice pilaf to go around, not once but twice.
Amen
We are thankful you were able to come over and share our meal.
well - we can’t forget the gratitude of parents who prayed for your salvation while you were still in the womb! after he saved US, we knew there was hope for anyone! love, mom
Amen, mom!
We are so grateful for your (and dad’s) faithfulness.
I thank the Lord for both of you.
Isn’t it funny how simple prayers can be our most heartfelt? I’ve been learning this lately as I try to pray with my son. I have to my absurd verbiage into simple, short prayers that (hopefully) my son will understand:
-”Thank you for taking care of us, Jesus.”
-”Help us to really love you.”
-”Thank you for my son.”
-”Help me to be a good dad.”
When I strip it all down to the simplest things, all I really want to say is “Jesus, I need your really badly, and I’m glad you’ve taken such good care of me.”
Joshua,
Hear! Hear! on simple prayers being the most heartfelt.
