there is no pit so deep
Dec 7th, 2007 by Nathanael
There is no pit so deep,
With sides so slick and steep,
That Jesus’ love is not deeper still.
There is no secret shame,
Or heartache, sin or pain
He did not feel on Golgotha’s hill.
But oft I can’t believe it’s true
That every hardship I go thru
Is a pain my Jesus has endured,
A depth my Savior has explored.
This truth revives my faith anew.
So I kneel in reverence here
A rebel redeemed,
A beggar esteemed,
No longer held captive by my fear.
With confidence, my soul draws near,
To this King who counts my tears,
This friend who counts my tears.
There is no night so dark,
No outlook bleak or stark,
That His light and hope can’t overcome.
There is no power or foe,
That He can’t overthrow,
All the minions of darkness will succumb.
But oft I can’t believe it’s true
That every hardship I go thru
Is a pain my Jesus has endured,
A depth my Savior has explored.
This truth revives my faith anew.
So I kneel in reverence here
A rebel redeemed,
A beggar esteemed,
No longer held captive by my fear.
With confidence, my soul draws near,
To this King who counts my tears,
This friend who counts my tears.
There is no pit so deep.
That Jesus is not deeper still.
