suddenly freer
Oct 25th, 2007 by Nathanael
Suddenly freer,
Instantly lighter,
Like a pressing weight lifted off my chest.
And the grip of fear
That grew ever tighter,
Was released by the Savior of the oppressed.
Suddenly stronger,
Though I feel weak,
I find in my weakness, your strength is perfect.
Silent no longer
Of mercy I’ll speak,
Of grace, of compassion, of love and respect.
Suddenly braver,
Although I’m afraid,
Your boldness and your courage are mine.
Spirit of my Savior,
My spirit invade,
Until my ambitions are all realigned.
Suddenly freer,
As I surrender,
Your Spirit takes over in a sweet, gentle coup,
A new voice I hear,
Soft and tender,
Saying, “Go and love others as I have loved you.”
