Last night at church, one of the all-time greatest church moments of my lifetime happened. After the message, one of the pastors opened the mic to people who wanted to give God glory for what He’s done in their lives this past year. A few people got up to share some in-depth situations where the Lord proved Himself faithful to them.
One older gentleman, who is known for being long-winded, stood up, grabbed the mic, and simply stated, “Hi, my name is —. About five days ago, I kicked the beer habit. And I’m real happy about that.” This proclamation was met with cheers, applause and a fair share of chuckles.
Isn’t it beautiful when a body of believers welcomes transparency, and people feel free to be real?
